Dive into ocean holiday shopping

It’s that time of year when holiday shopping is all the rage. Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the onslaught of holiday deals. But instead of spending all your money at the usual department stores or online corporations, spread a little ocean love by shopping at and donating to your favorite ocean organization.

Many nonprofits have online stores where you can buy cool ocean-themed presents. Another option is purchasing a gift membership, a gift that keeps on giving all year long! It varies from organization to organization, but usually the recipient will receive some type of welcome packet featuring excellent goodies and information, plus a subscription to the nonprofit’s magazine or newsletter.

So if you haven’t already, consider doing something a bit different this year. Buy a gift that gives thrice, once to the recipient, once to the ocean organization of your choice and once to the ocean.

Better yet, donate some of the the money to your favorite charity or NGOs and put it to a better use other than materialism.
