Fisher eaters check this out

Stout beardfish

I have good news for fish eaters. A reader let me know that she buys healthy and sustainable seafood from Vital Choice Wild Seafood & Organics. After checking out the website, I must say it does appear to be excellent. Vital Choice even has an endorsement from Dr. Andrew Weil, the famous supporter of integrative medicine, healthy eating and healthy aging.

According to the Vital Choice website, their fish rank high on the list of sustainable options based on Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch card. This is a good sign because the Seafood Watch cards are all about health and sustainable fishing.

Plus, you can do even more grocery shopping on the Vital Choice website because they sell all sorts of things including tea, seasonings, oils, nuts, soups and the best of all…dark chocolate. That’s where my eyes went right away. It turns out the dark chocolate is organic and fair trade to boot! So check it out!

(By the way, the fish drawing isn’t completely relevant to this post, I just thought it was a cool drawing that happens to be in the public domain. Apparently, the beardfish is a deep ocean fish that lives in tropical and temperate waters sticking to 600 to 2,000 feet deep. And it got its name from… you guessed it, those crazy things hanging off its chin.)
